Logistical Support
CORDSEN Engineering GmbH provides comprehensive technical publications and integrated logistics support services. Document planning, development, and certification is provided to support in-house or client product development. Documentation is generated in accordance with commercial or military format using industry-standard software tools. Change control and configuration management services are available for life-cycle documentation maintenance.

Operation and maintenance, training, and logistics-support documentation is provided to support commercial and military data requirements. This material includes technical manuals, specifications, plans, procedures, analyses, and reports. Documentation is provided for the characterization of product reliability, maintainability, provisioning, safety, and failure modes.

CORDSEN Engineering GmbH personnel maintain a thorough knowledge of military standards and the processes required for development, validation, and delivery of government data.

Equipment
Cordsen Engineering GmbH (CE) maintains a comprehensive design engineering capability. Equipment is developed for conformance with commercial, military, or customer-specific design and performance specifications. Industry-standard software tools are used to support a fully integrated engineering and manufacturing process. CE maintains an extensive complement of proven component and subassembly designs. The use of existing, qualified subsystems in new products significantly reduces design risk and ensures competitive cost. CE excels in the following design disciplines, which are implemented without compromising the physical or functional integrity of the integrated commercial architecture:

Mechanical Isolation:
Equipment chassis are designed to perform without degradation in the required mechanical environment. Mechanical isolation can be implemented for an entire chassis or selected internal components. The isolation method and attenuation profile is tailored for the required environment. CE provides equipment for deployment in ground mobile, airborne, and shipboard applications.

Thermal Performance:

CE equipment incorporates thermal design strategies that allow integrated commercial architecture to perform within temperature ranges that significantly exceed commercial specifications. Thermal performance is enhanced through forced-air cooling, baffling, and on-demand heaters. Automated thermal monitoring and shutdown is available to ensure protection of electronic components.

Electromagnetic Compatibility:

Equipment chassis and subsystems are designed to conform with the required electromagnetic interference and compatibility specifications. EMI filters are incorporated to suppress conducted emissions in the ac power line. Power supplies incorporated high-frequency, zero-current-switching dc to dc converters, which provide low levels of conducted and radiated noise. External mating surfaces are fitted with EMI/RFI gaskets. Cooling fan and dust filter apertures include filters for containment of radiated noise. External cables are shielded and fitted with EMI/RFI backshells. Internal wiring is designed to minimize coupling from adjacent cables and subsystems.

Hardware Integration
CORDSEN Engineering GmbH maintains a comprehensive systems engineering and test capability. Alliances are maintained with major hardware manufactures to ensure that ruggedized CE systems maintain complete software transparency with the associated commercial products. Integration and test plans are validated throughout the design and production process. Final integration and test processes are conducted to demonstrate compliance with internal design requirements and customer specifications.
