RUGGED PRODUCT DIVISION
Our design team in the Rugged Product Division maintains a comprehensive design engineering capability, and can transform your existing product or system to achieve compliance with unique mechanical, electrical or environmental requirements; tailored to MIL-STD 810F, MIL-STD 461D and other applicable standards. Our environmental tailoring process ensures that system design and test criteria are tailored to environmental conditions within which material is to operate, and depending on the mission need statement and the operational requirements, we optimize cost and operational effectiveness. We have a wide range of Standard Products, some NATO Stocknumber, and our strength is custom design with rapid prototyping and production run. Special know-how is available to optimize Lightning protection, including NEMP/HEMP of mission critical products and/or installations.
Workstations
We have introduced a range of ruggedized workstations for mobile and stationary use, from ultracompact mobile units with quick-release mounting brackets and rackmount units, to a powerful mobile high-end server with detachable display and keyboard. These incorporate the latest computing technology. This line also features products for law enforcement and public safety, i.e. Police and Fire Brigade vehicles.
Flat Panel Displays
Our flat panel displays are based on mature COTS AMLCD technology, ruggedized for airborne, naval or land mobile applications.
Several flat panel displays are available with an optional hi-brite luminance, giving true sunlight readability at >1000 cd/m² and a high-reliability backlight with > 50.000hours MTBF, as well as a wide dimming ratio to allow NV-compatibility. Different Display sizes are available on request, with an optional touch screen and anti-flicker performance required for certain naval applications.
Printers
For mobile operation at ambient temperatures well below 0°C, the only reliable choice is a dot-matrix impact printer. We offer a 24-Pin unit, fully tested and qualified for battlefield operation.
CP-8240N is employed in the German ADLER-Project (Artillerie-, Führungs- Informations und Feuerleitsystem, ArtFülnFELSYs, equivalent to TAC-FIRE), as well as in COBRA, a multinational project (Counter Battery Radar).
Handhelds
PDAs and Tablet PCs are available as OEM-products, with enhanced EMI-features done by Cordsen.
Notebook
The CE-8750 with a 14.1" direct sunlight readable display is tailored to MIL-STD-810F. It allows simultaneous configuration of two high capaity removable DR-36 form factor batteries. The computer system is powered by the Intel Pentium M family of CPU's, and may be configured with up to 2GB of RAM.
